Welcome to #BecauseICan
I may not be able to do the things you do, but what I can do may surprise you.
Summer is my favorite season for many reasons. Beach bumming is definitely in my top five. I love the beach just like you. And even though it may be more challenging for me to get there, I'm no different than you. I am just the same player in the game.
To be honest, figuring out how to get onto the beach was difficult at first & it did take me time (years). But , I learnt all the tricks (eventually). Cmon, it's a little cool that I get to ride this toy.
A ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for. So get out there & do the things you want to. Take it from a pro, sitting & doing nothing about your obstacle will get you nowhere.
I may not be able to do the things you do, but YOLO, so I just do it. ✔️
So I have this scar on my leg from when I broke it a few years back. And. I. Love. It.
Ok truth, I love it because I'm weird like that & think it's fierce. But, it also serves as a reminder to me of when life tried to break me, but failed. It doesn't let me forget that I can overcome anything that stands in my way. It tells me that it's ok to lose a battle if I'm in it to win the war. And because I know that my scars are someone else's sign of hope.
So to all the lucky ones with scars: Don't hide them. Embrace them. Honor them. Wear them with proof that God heals.
I may not be able to do the things you do, but I can wear my scars with pride. ✊🏼
Fun Fact #807: It takes 43 muscles to frown, but only 17 muscles to smile. Fun Fact #808: If you asked me to frown, I physically cannot do it. My facial muscles are not strong enough. But, ask me to smile & I got you covered.
How crazy is that? Sometimes we're so caught up in the things we don't have, we don't realize how lucky we are with what we are blessed with. Happiness isn't about getting what you want all the time. It's about loving what you have & being grateful for it. Easier said than done, I know. But it can't hurt to try.
I may not be able to do the things you do, but being able to (only) smile is my blessing in disguise. 😁
Life is too short to be anything but happy. Be weird. Take the risk. Jump on the opportunity. Eat that donut. Do you.
If I can inspire one person with my life story, that's enough. Any more than that is even better. It makes my life actually worth living.
If you can wake up every morning loving what you do, help & inspire others around you to be better than they were yesterday, then you know you're doing something right.
Cheers to all the graduates & a huge congratulations to this 4.0 nerd, Robyn Saad !!
Thank you so much for this incredible gift!!
She believed she could, so she did 🎓
I'm not trying to brag, I swear. Im truthfully honored to be chosen as one of the "36 Under 36" individuals who are "changing the face of the Jewish community" in the Jewish Week.
While the other chosen ones are far more impressive than I, it is an honor to be among such extraordinary people.
I am just a girl on mission - to prove that disability hasn't won. When we are no longer able to alter a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves. Life is not all about physicality, but about getting through the difficult times & learning to appreciate the beauty that life has to offer.
I may not be able to do the things you do, but I deliver this message - this message called life. 📰

I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And I will not let what I cannot do interfere with what I can do.
I can do things these angels cannot. And these superheroes can do things I cannot. But together, we can - and we will - do whatever we dream of.
I am so proud of my little friends. I've been teaching them all about life, but I've learned far more from them than they did I.
I may not be able to do the things you do, but hanging with these characters has taught me what life is all about. 👐🏼
The world loves a comeback story.
It's never too late; never give up. Ok, you can try it. But, I'm telling you from experience - it'll get you no where.
I've decided that I've been assigned this particular mountain to show others that it can be moved. And it's an honor to tell my story. Many thanks to NYITCOM & Max Cohen inviting me to speak to these future prominent physicians.
So never forget how far you've come. Everything you have gotten through. All the times you have pushed on even when you felt you couldn't. All the mornings you found the strength to get out of bed, no matter how hard it was.
And never forget how much strength you have inside of you. It's there - reach in & find it. You'll be amazed at the mountain you can move if you just TRY.
I may not be able to do the things you do, but I can move my mountain. Watch me and I'll show you how. ⛰
What a time to be alive BH!
Yesterday, I was humbly invited to throw the first pitch at the Brooklyn Cyclones Little League All Star game. And to be honest, I was so excited & accepted the invitation, the idea of how I would physically throw the ball didn't even cross my mind.
Then I got to the stadium & saw these courageous players practicing together with their smiles, their will, their fellowship. And their contagious team spirit bounced onto me & gave me the strength to throw out the first ball of the game.
So, never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game. I know these champions definitely didn't.
I may not be able to do the things you do, but I can seize the moments I've been blessed with. ⚾️
Special thank you to David Alhadeff for this amazing opportunity & reminding me to just keep swimming.
I feel like SuperMan; they gonna remember me. I think I know I can - who says it hard to reach? Who's gonna stop me on the road to success - I don't know. (Who knows the song?)
Sometimes I feel like I can't run, I can't crawl. And sometimes I feel like I ain't nothing at all. Life is a journey where you stumble & fall, but I'm okay because I have my bodyguards by my side. Because I can do anything with heroes like these. Because these warriors remind me that winners never quit.
Because WE can complete a FULL marathon in under 4 hours!!!!!
NYC, we're coming for you.
I may not be able to do the things you do, but WE are unstoppable. 🎖
Public Service Announcement:
(text size 72) I literally just blew my own hair in 15 minutes. Me. By myself. No help. Something I haven't done in over nine years - No big deal.
I may have a disability. But all that really means is that I have to take a slightly different path than you. Disability does NOT mean inability. It simply means adaptability.
If "plan A" didn't work, the alphabet has 25 more letters. So keep trying. And then try again. And then try once more. You will find your way.
Wishing you & your family a very happy holiday!!
I may not be able to do the things you do, but 18 letters later, I finally prevailed. 🔤
Many thanks to @hair_hackss_ for this amazing product, who not only embraced my individuality, but made me pretty along the way. Check it out!! @hair_hackss_

No matter how good or bad your life is, be thankful you still have one. Today is a great day to be alive.
Your potential is endless. Get out there & go do what you were created to do. "Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it's stupid."
So believe you can. And you will.
This week on Chessed Day, we had the opportunity to write letters to the seniors in our community, wishing them well, a beautiful happy holiday, and just a simple reminder that we're thinking of them.
Alone we can do so little, but together we can do so much. Nothing in life means anything unless someone cares, and the whole trick is to keep being that someone. Hey, if we got one senior to smile, we changed the world. Maybe not the whole world, but their world. It's a start!
So don't wait for inspiration - BE the inspiration.
Your attitude is your mind's paintbrush. Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can. Don't doubt yourself; you got this.
We may not be able to do the things you do, but we can make the world a better place - one letter at a time. 💌
This was an incredible moment for me.
Debuting "Because I Can" for the first time & at The Happiest Place on Earth - what can be more perfect? I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Sometimes it's not about the destination or the journey, but the amazing people you meet along the way. Remember, for everything you have lost, you have gained something bigger and better. Sometimes the best things come from the worst things that happen to us.
So, to anybody out there who feels like giving up sometimes but still finds it in themselves to get up & keep fighting, I share this moment with you.
I may not be able to do the things you do, but I can feel like a rockstar. 🎸
Often times, I am perceived as a "hero". But, I surely am not. I am the one who helps the hero fulfill their destiny. I support the hero & push them to their limits. I am the sidekick.
My hero is someone who does great things for others without expecting anything in return. My hero is a rockstar that doesn't even know how amazingly talented he is. My hero finds extraordinary ways to raise money for this incredible organization. My hero wears running shoes & runs for a dream. My hero wakes up at 5am to cheer & support their fellow team members. My hero runs 3,000 total miles in one year & makes it look easy. My hero fails but still manages to try & try again. My hero generously opens their hearts & their wallets, helping Team #BecauseWeCan raise $23,472.
My hero is YOU.
I may not be able to do the things you do, but I'm proud to be your sidekick. 🤸🏻♀️
Whoever is reading this: You're beautiful. You're loved. You're needed. You're alive for a reason. You're stronger than you think. You're going to get through this. Don't give up.
And I leave you with the gift of these four words: I believe in you.
